YouGov polling results based off 3905 people highlight that Socialism is now the preferred ideology over Capitalism, in the UK.
Not only is Socialism preferred, more individuals identify themselves Socialist than they do Capitalist however most people adhere to either label.
Exceptions to the growing the trend are those over 60+, Conservative voters and UKIP supporters. Only 2% of Conservative voters identify as Socialist.
The shifts in attitudes are driven by young, predominately female individuals. Males are evenly split between the two ideologies. With some hope these societal changes will give a boost to Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign in 2020, and EU-wide elections to bring about the change we need.
